Looking Back to Look Ahead: Analysis of the 2020 elections and plans for 2022 Elections

Mayra Rivera-Vazquez, Beaufort County Democratic Party chair since 2018. 2020 DNC National Delegate for the Congressional District 1 and Elector for the Congressional District 1 for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at the South Carolina Electoral College. 2017 graduate of the Congressional James Clyburn Political Fellowship and was honored with the SCDP 2020 Diversity Change Makers Award.

Community Activist and volunteer in several organizations in the Lowcountry and the State. Currently is a member of the Board of Directors of our local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate and a member of the Lowcountry Immigration Coalition. Also, member of the Board of Advisors of Secure the Ballot, focused on registers new voters in the South in Black, Brown, Young and Rural Communities and member of the Board of Directors of Progresso LatinX a progressive voice for the Hispanic Community focused through civic education and political activism.

Mayra has a BA in Economics, a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico Law School, and a Master’s Degree in International Law, Foreign Affairs and Trade from the Institute of Economics and Law (ISDE in Spanish) in Madrid, Spain. Currently she is a legal assistant at Deverall Immigration Law in Bluffton.
